A unique part of the workshop is a session on using sounds & vibration to soothe ourselves: a fun but effective way to explore self calming with tools that are always available to us: our breath & our voice. As a treat on Saturday evening, we will light a bonfire for which we invite you to create a sound circle with us using drums, percussion, singing bowls, chimes & more. You can choose to join in and play (no need to be a musician) or simply relax by the fire and enjoy listening to the soothing sounds of the instruments safely surrounded by a magical little forrest. (**note Bonfire is Weather permitting)

The workshop is held in the beautiful & relaxed setting of Crookedwood Farm, a little working farm in the countryside of Meath, only 45mins from Dublin City Centre. Mindfulness is to grow our awareness, to know that thoughts are just thoughts, to understand how emotions manifest in our bodies and to recognise when our attention wanders. In this workshop you’ll learn how to find the energy of mindfulness within you and how to get and keep the children excited to practice with you. To cultivate your own practice is important and you will find inspiration in this workshop to do just this. “Supporting Yoga practice with Singing Bowls and other Instruments”

Sound and Vibration have great benefits to our body and especially to our
parasymphathetic nervous system. Using sound to heal is a very ancient practice found to be used in many cultures all over the world. Today there has been a substancial amount of research conducted into the effects of sound, frequency and vibration. In the yoga world we are familiar with: Nada Brama – the world is sound. From a long time of research on the effects of singing bowls on body, mind and soul, Peter Hess, Father of the practice of Sound Massage here in the west, developed sound massage in the 1980’s.

Sound massage is first and foremost a holistic relaxation method.
In Sound Relaxation, body, mind and soul can let go of accumulated stress, worry and uncertainty and create a new, free, safe and stable base for developing self-healing powers.
In this workshop you learn how a yoga class can be merged and supported with the use of soundhealing instruments, such as singing bowls and percussion instruments including your voice, in a simple way. You don’t need any prior experience in this field, this workshop will give you a basic introduction of the practice and will explore different techniques with which you can enhance your yogaclass. This workshop comes in two versions, one version covers how to support Adult yoga classes, with the focus on mindful yoga, hatha yoga or yin yoga and the other focuses on supporting Children’s yoga classes in which we

also focus on sound games and sound relaxations. Please see booking page for dates. If you have any questions, please email me.

In addition experience a sound massage relaxation tailored to support pregnancy with therapeutic singing bowls and gong after the Peter Hess method.”

Weiterlesen

Sound massage is a wonderful way to support mum and baby during pregnancy. The sounds of singing bowls invite mums to relax, take a break, to feel safe, to become centred and grounded.
In these moments of relaxation mums can tune into the new life they are creating and a beautiful mother-child bond in which the unborn baby receives your warmth, safety, closeness, affection and love, which will support and influence her-him way beyond birth.
After birth these now familiar sounds of the singing bowls can help your baby to calm quicker, find a sleep routine with ease and be an overall more relaxed baby.
In this sound message for mums-to-be, Peter Hess singing bowls are placed on and-or beside the body and played softly. Mum is lying in her most comfortable position, with the help of props, so she can relax and unwind completely and with ease. Baby will also receive the beautiful benefits of the sounds because amniotic fluid carries over the vibration of the singing bowls and even enhances them.
“Starting sound massage at 12weeks when I was pregnant myself I can only say how much the practice of sound massage has helped me to relax and feel at ease as well as keep me confident and happy especially when things have been getting tough emotionally or physically.”
Tanja Thomas, yoga teacher and Peter Hess sound massage practitioner
